About Us

Be Inside the Conversations That Will Shape Social Finance.

Canada’s Social Finance Conference

Taking place as a creative experience on June 15-16, 2023, the reimagined Social Finance Forum convenes 1,000+ changemakers from coast-to-coast-to-coast to learn actionable insights, celebrate game-changing ideas, convene community, activate capital and reshape finance tools for a better future.

Featuring ground-breaking talks, interactive masterclasses, peer-to-peer learning, and live journalism, Social Finance Forum explores the range of topics — from community finance to gender-based investing and Indigenous capital to corporate impact investing.

Why it Matters

After a turbulent two years of a global pandemic and social unrest, communities are experiencing fundamental shifts to how we work, care, create value, get around, travel, play, learn, and purchase. From child care to affordable housing, from decarbonization to reforestation, from elder care to food security — there are game-changing transitions ahead.

Through social finance, we have the enormous opportunity to accelerate solutions by creatively mobilizing private, public, community, and philanthropic capital.

The social finance ecosystem in Canada, a market valued at nearly $20 billion, plays a key role in the seismic shift needed to re-imagine capital for a sustainable and equitable future. Offering a space and forum for changemakers to connect, dream, and build is the goal for the 2023 Social Finance Forum as we enter this new era of capital for impact.

About this year’s event:

Premium Online Experience

The SSF will gather on vFairs - an award-winning, highly interactive and premium online experience. This platform was chosen in order to offer an elevated experience for participants which perfectly integrates with Braindates, our peer learning and networking platform, gaming options and most seamlessly allows for an excellent online experience.

Day Zero Programming

Day Zero programming provides an opportunity for aligned, affiliated communities of interest to connect for a half day of virtual peer discussions, storytelling, and knowledge sharing in smaller, focused, intimate groups as a part of a pre-day before the main event. The relatively low intensity programming for this day will be anchored by a lead organization.  Communities of interest would then join the full audience for the core program on Day 1 and Day 2.  Contact us if you are interested to learn more.

Community Viewing Hubs: Hybrid Option

We heard you — after three years of being stuck at home, you're ready to get out into your community and connect in-person again. For this year's Social Finance Forum, we are pleased to offer a number of opportunities to experience the Forum alongside your colleagues, friends, and soon-to-be friends!

For Day 1 of Social Finance Forum, we are pleased to offer Community Meet-ups in Toronto and Vancouver as a hybrid opportunity to experience the online Social Finance Forum content, have invigorating discussions with peers, and network with other like minded folks in the social finance space. Thank you to our venue partner Colleges and Institutes Canada and to their member organizations British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) and George Brown College for their support. Interested in hosting your own Community Meet-up and Viewing? Let us know here [link to form].

Stay tuned as we look forward to unveiling more details on the SFF Momentum Series, regional in-person events taking place in Fall/Winter 2023-24 that will carry on discussions from Social Finance Forum to the local level.
